Ironman 1715 Recumbent Bike Ironman Recumbent Bike

The instructions for assembly were easy to follow. Putting the frame together was easier with two people. The instructions didn't indicate where to plug in the electrical transformer (I guess they thought that it would be obvious). It took me a little while to discover the tiny round hole in the front bottom part of the bike. The pedals turn easily, but adjusting the length of the frame leg reach could be easier.
Ironman 1715 Recumbent Bike Great Product But Needs Sturdier Packaging

Reviewer: pups mom,
I was able to assemble the bike myself, but two people would have been easier. I had to use my knee and a stack of boxes to act as third and fourth hands to assemble one part. Some of the parts on the enclosed parts list are given different names in the instructions, so I recommend they hire a tech writer. Still, the instructions weren't as bad as many I've seen. The bike is comfortable, quiet, and smooth running. I had to return the first one because the exterior box was a shambles and smaller boxes inside were obviously retaped. The second box arrived in okay but not perfect condition; the shipper should use a double walled or other type sturdier box` for the very heavy contents.

Dealing with amazon.com for the replacement order was an absolute breeze. I clicked on a choice of whether I wanted someone to call me immediately or in five minutes. A split second after the click (immediate chosen), an amazon rep called. Although the rep was from far away (Manila), he was easy to understand, knowledgeable, and friendly, and took care of the arrangements before I even ended our conversation (I saw the email message of the reorder while still online). Amazon.com is such a joy to order from, and they have some of the best prices. They put other large companies of all types to shame with their excellent customer service. I have ordered books, an electric toothbrush, dog supplies, a watch, and lots of other items, and the service is consistent.

Easy to assemble though the directions are a little confusing. The box was smashed when it arrived but the equipment seemed okay. Whisper quiet and a variety of programs to choose from. Definitely a great deal!

I put the Ironman together with no problems, I loved everything about it. It has an excellent Monitor and the good thing about it its electric not batteries. It runs very quite. It was easy to adjust the tension on the pedals. I used it for five days and I was very dissapointed that I had to return it. The reason for returning it, I found out from various sources that it had no warratee so if something should have happened after 30 days I would had been stuck with it.
Ironman 1715 Recumbent Bike Seat Rocks Back and Forth

Review Date: August 7, 2010
Reviewer: DaffyD, Seattle, WA
Like another reviewer here, my first bike arrived in a damaged carton and the styrofoam inside was broken in pieces. The bike itself was damaged; a metal piece was bent and I was unable to assemble the bike. The seat also had some melted white plastic on the side. I sent the bike back. The replacement was also delivered in a damaged box. What is the matter with companies and shippers these days? There is no concern for damage control anymore. Anyway, I saw no damage to the bike itself and easily assembled it.

The only problem I'm having is that when pedaling against zero or low resistance the seat rocks back and forth. I've tightened all the connecting bolts but it hasn't fixed the problem. It may be a design flaw or it could be a problem with this individual bike. I'm reluctant to return this one for fear that either I'll find the same problem with the replacement or something else will be wrong.

I am having fun with the preset programs and haven't yet explored the depths of the custom program settings. I want to like this bike alot but if I can't resolve the rocking seat problem, I still may have to exchange it once again.
